Bio
Displaying a remarkable consistency during his 17-year career, Jim Bunning
became the first pitcher to record 100 wins and 1,000 strikeouts in both
the American and National leagues. He also threw no-hitters in both leagues,
including a perfect game on Father’s Day 1964. Accumulated 224 career wins
as a seven-time All-Star selection. Bunning was also a leading figure in
the founding of the player’s union and would later serve the state of Kentucky
as a United States Senator.
